We are live!

Slottsfjell is one of the biggest and most popular music festivals in Norway. Since its inception in 2003, it has grown from a local indie attraction to a national event. Now, starting with the 2018 festival, we have worked with Slottsfjell to redefine their visual identity.

In collaboration with McCann Live, we have developed a visual language that plays off of Norwegian culture and humour, to spark curiosity from both the local community and the visitors from far away. For this, we also came up with a character to visualise the feeling of the Slottsfjell tribe, to find a unique voice for the festival.

‘At Slottsfjell, we have something wholly unique. We have a one-of-a-kind festival area, and a very special atmosphere develops when visitors, artists, Slottsfjell employees and volunteers gather for three days in the middle of July,’ says Johannes Lund, the director of the Slottsfjell festival. ‘It is this mood that is important for us to express, both through design and communication.’

The Slottsfjell festival has grown to be one of the most important festivals in the country, and it’s been a very desirable client for many designers, so it was extra nice that Slottsfjell chose us.

The identity is already live online, at slottsfjell.no, and more material will become available as the festival date nears, so stay tuned!
